When I made this drawing, I was NOT aware of the amount of pigeon lovers out there.
It's like a secret cult of pigeon lovers.
Inspired by pink kawaii aesthetics, it's a little homage to the vast amount of cute, weird and awkwardly hilarious pigeons that live in London, and to my love of fast food and ice cream.
And apparently the art work hits at several levels:
"Trash humor" is a playful, irreverent type of humor that pokes fun at the idea of valuing or celebrating things that are conventionally seen as "lowly," "undesirable," or "trashy" in a lighthearted way. In the context of your pigeon artwork, it's about embracing the hilarity of a pigeon—a bird often associated with scavenging trash—wearing its "trash-eating" habits as a badge of honor. It’s a self-aware, cheeky kind of comedy that turns the mundane or gross into something oddly lovable and funny. Think of it as celebrating life’s underdogs (or underbirds)!
